This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on our websites: olympicstudios.com, olympiccinema.com, thecinemainthepowerstation.com and thecinemaatselfridges.com. It covers every page on those sites – what’s on, films, membership, your account, events and private hire.

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and between visits – that you are signed in, what you were part-way through, or which preferences you have set. Similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and tags do much the same job, and where we mention cookies below we mean those too.
First-party cookies are set by the site you are on.
Third-party cookies are set by another organisation whose service appears on the page, such as a video player or an analytics provider.
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them; the lifetime of each one we use is listed below.
The first time you visit, we ask what you are happy for us to use. Nothing optional runs before you choose – no analytics, no marketing cookies, nothing on first load. You can accept all, reject all, or turn individual categories on and off.
You can change your mind at any time: use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page, or select Manage on the banner. Turning a category off removes it straight away – the page reloads so nothing from it is left running. Your choice is remembered for 180 days, after which we will ask again. We will also ask again if we add or change a category.
Cookies that are strictly necessary have no toggle, because the site cannot work without them.
These make the site work. They remember who you are while you are signed in, keep your place in a form or a sign-up, and protect our forms from automated abuse. They do not track you across other websites and are never used for advertising.

These tell us how the site is used – which pages people visit, how they arrived, where something is going wrong – so we can improve it. The reports we see are aggregated; we do not use them to identify you or to advertise to you elsewhere. Nothing in this category loads unless you turn it on.

These let us measure whether our advertising is working and show our ads to people who have shown an interest in us. This category applies to Olympic Cinema only. Nothing in it loads unless you turn it on.

Some parts of the experience are provided by other companies. Where they sit on our pages, we have set them up to be as private as we can make them.
__stripe_mid (12 months) and __stripe_sid (30 minutes) – to keep the payment form working and to detect fraudulent transactions. These are strictly necessary: the payment cannot be taken without them, so they are not covered by the optional categories above, and they are only set on the pages where a payment is being made. On a phone or tablet, the same settings are in your browser’s privacy menu. Blocking all cookies will stop you signing in, booking or completing a form here, and will affect most other sites in the same way.
We review this page whenever we add or remove a service that uses cookies, and update the date at the top. If we add a new category, we will ask for your consent again rather than assume your previous answer still covers it.
